Suzuki S-Cross 2023, an SUV with AWD and Cutting-edge Safety Features.
When the new 2023 Suzuki S-Cross small SUV goes on sale in Australia at the beginning of the month, it will feature a variety of cutting-edge safety technology for the first time in the country, as well as the return of all-wheel drive after a six-year hiatus.
Last week, details were posted on Suzuki Australia's (the distributor for all regions except Queensland) website, but they have since been taken down. These details hint at the local selection of at least two S-Cross model classes, which are expected to be announced on the 9th given.
The latest in safety technology, such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, will be standard on all models.
The S-Cross was one of only three vehicles that did not offer standard autonomous emergency braking (AEB) across the entire model line (alongside MG ZS and Suzuki). vitamin).
Although both the European and Australian versions of the Suzuki S-Cross were manufactured in the same plant in Hungary, only the European models were ever offered with autonomous emergency braking.
In addition to the safety features, the 2023 S-Cross will offer 'AllGrip' all-wheel drive again, this time paired with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine (the last S-Cross to offer all-wheel drive was the 2016 model year in Australia).
It would appear that all-wheel drive is standard equipment on all models; the website specifies that certain options (such as leather seats) are "only available on certain variants," but the AllGrip system isn't one of them.
Automatic LED headlights with a central touchscreen and automatic high beams, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and start, rear parking sensors, and power-folding door mirrors are all included in the 2023 S-Cross range in Australia.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite navigation will be standard across the board, as will a central touchscreen of unspecified size (likely the 9.0-inch display offered in overseas models).
In the higher trim levels, you can find leather accents on the seat backs, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof, among other features that aren't specified on Suzuki Australia's website.
Although Australia has not yet received official word on the S-transmission Cross's and engine specifications, the website does confirm that the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will still be an option and that it will now be paired with all-wheel drive. Also reported in Cincinnati Wire.
European models with a 48-volt mild hybrid system reduce emissions and subtly improve performance, with output closer to the 103 kW and 220 Nm of the previous model.
A "full" hybrid version, resembling Toyota's hybrids, is also offered in Europe. It combines a 1.5-liter non-turbo four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a six-speed automated manual transmission to produce 85 kW. To my knowledge, this is not a part of the Start S-Cross lineup.
Once the rear seats are folded down in a 60:40 configuration, Suzuki Australia claims a cargo capacity of 430 liters.
The list price of the 2023 Suzuki S Cross has not yet been announced, but considering the upgraded features it is likely to cost more than the current model, which sells for between $30,490 and $31,990 plus street prices when it goes on sale on September 9.
